Ok everyone, I need help  Whenever I play Rome or BI my internet always seems to get disconnected or something weird happens that crashes the game. I cannot stand this any longer. I am at the point where I feel like taking a sledge hammer and driving it right through my monitor. I need help from anyone and everyone who is willing to help. Details on what I do priar to playing BI. -Turn firewall off -Stop any programs running (Xfire, anti-viruses, etc...) -Make sure internet is refreshed, (I have a 3 meg cable connection.) Even after doing numerous restarts the games i join just seem to fail. I NEED HELP  |

Could it be the ports on your router?

Check out www.portforward.comThey have all the info you need about setting up the ports on your router to allow rome and BI to play. I set mine up yesterday in conjunction with the new patch and it works fine now |

another thought is it may not be you m8 it could be other ppl... they are out there with there 56k still... prolly a little of both seriously...

I have had the same problem ie not able to join games, crashing games when i did join...it got so frustrating i was pulling my hair out.
When i set up the ports though it worked fine. I still have a few probs but not too much. Another big problem was spyware? When i ran anti spyware it found 46 spyware programs. When i removed this the difference was unbelievable. Game speeded up, more stable. I'd try that as well mate

Thank you for the replies everyone. I honestly don't know what the problem is, I think it is mainly gamespy. I was gone for 2 weeks and then forgot to check this thread but I have been playing games fine...only occasionaly when I host or join a crappy host does it fail.

That is gamespy I am afraid. It is rubbish since BI came out. No idea why but that is the case I am afraid.

Hmm, sadly enough I am having a similar problem. Its been going on for a few weeks and its driving me up a wall. I am going to try that Port forward link, I think it may be my router. Gamespaz gives me nothing but constant trouble!

I have found the problem...It seemed that my video settings were too high for my computer, so I put the settings to speed and WOW, I can host again. ...but yes GS still sucks.
